Namaste, Welcome and Escape to the another world...
Nepal is a country-kingdom of diversity,
of contrasts, of multilingual multicultural population,
of changing and unwavering values, the spectator of history
of the rise and fall of rulers and eras, the witness of
prosperity and poverty, the ever changing never ending
beauty.
The valley in itself with cities of Kathmandu, Lalitpur,
Bhaktpur and the forgotten city of Kirtipur is full of
mysteries and sagas and beliefs that are still significant
and yet time forgotten for the exact reasons behind the
signicificance. Each and every architectural corner has
a story to tell, temples, stupas, formation has its own
interpretation of what was and is to be. A patient observer
could easily get lost in the city of wonderment of awe
inspiring tales that follows nearly all the constructions.
The life of an ordinary person earning his daily wage
goes on in the same way as his ancestors - hard work,
sweating and poverty. While his fellow inhabitants have
gone ahead to compete and earn a living in the world of
dot com and cloning and satellites, he still has not had
the luxury of keeping his evenings bright with electricity.
He still lives in a world full of awe for the supernatural,
the paranormal, the rules and the ritual that are necessary
to please the omnipresent. For it is the omnipresence
of theunseen one that brings the rain in time for plantation,
the thunder and lightening in time to open up the earth
and bring forth springs to water the fields and the sun
at the time of harvest and to melt the snow into pristine
rivers of the drinking water. It is also the same force
that sometimes turns into terrible disaster in the forms
of natural calamities in the broader sense and illness
or death in the family in a personal sense. Hence, the
divine being must be pleased in all its forms and manifestations,
for the wrath of being could be equally severe as the
magnitude o this uncountable blessings. Therefore in this
belief are the hope and the fear a common man in Nepal
but there is a certain degree of satisfaction, of the
assurance that a protective force is always present and
is the benefactor for all the devotees, though it needs
to be pleased form time to time with sacrifices and offerings
and rituals
